Remains Recovered at Jordan Attack Site
CENTCOM announced that military personnel discovered unidentified human remains on Sunday (local time) at the location of Friday's Iranian attack in Jordan. Officials confirmed an examination is currently underway to determine whether the remains belong to the service member who was reported missing following that strike.
The day prior, CENTCOM had disclosed that two US service members were killed and a third went missing after Iran launched missiles and drones at US and partner forces in Jordan on July 17. Four additional service members were medically evacuated to hospitals in Jordan but have since been discharged.

In a separate and unrelated incident, CENTCOM confirmed a US service member was killed in northern Iraq on Saturday during the controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance recovered from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone. A second service member sustained a minor injury in the same incident and remains under medical care.
