Food delivery giant Uber Eats has removed an Adelaide restaurant from its platform after the burger shop took the unusual step of publicly protesting against the company.
The move comes after the eatery staged a visible demonstration against the global delivery platform, prompting the company to kick the business off the app entirely.
It is understood the restaurant's protest was made publicly before Uber Eats took action to end the business's access to the service. The episode has drawn attention to the relationship between food delivery platforms and the small businesses that rely on them to reach customers.
Uber Eats has not publicly detailed the reasons behind the removal at this stage.
