A Toyota Yaris was sent airborne before slamming deep into the side of a bus at a busy Brisbane intersection on Wednesday evening, in a dramatic crash that could have been far more catastrophic had passengers been aboard.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Beaudesert Road and Granard Road in Archerfield at approximately 6.30pm, with images from the scene showing the small car lodged into the body of the bus.
Bus Driver the Only Person on Board
Fortunately, the bus was empty of passengers at the time of the crash, with only the driver inside. Queensland Police confirmed no serious injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Onlookers who saw footage of the collision were quick to note how much worse the outcome could have been. "Good thing there were no passengers on the bus at the time because it would have been disastrous," one witness wrote on social media. Another echoed the sentiment, saying: "It is so lucky no one was on the bus."
