"It may be in the mix," she said at the time. "We will find out when the baby comes." She went on to describe the weight of the decision, admitting she had been feeling "so much pressure naming a human" and that fans online were enthusiastically pushing for the couple to name their baby after themselves. "I feel like if I don't name my baby Taylor, the internet's literally going to cancel me," she said, adding with characteristic humour: "But I'm like, guys, are you really going to want that name?"
In the end, the couple landed on a name that was both personal and distinctive — incorporating Taylor as a middle name while choosing Lennon as the first.

In the same week as the birth announcement, Tay also gave her 1.6 million Instagram followers a look inside the nursery she had put together for little Lennon. Created in partnership with Pottery Barn Kids, the room features a white cot dressed in floral bedding, pastel-coloured décor, a pink armchair, and framed pregnancy photos of the couple. The couple had celebrated the impending arrival earlier, with a pink-themed baby shower held in early August — a celebration Tay described as the baby shower of her dreams.
