Singer Ricki-Lee and comedian Jim Jefferies have been confirmed as the new co-hosts of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! on Channel Seven, with the popular reality format set to make its Seven Network debut in 2027. The pair were unveiled at Seven Media Group's 2027 Upfronts event on Thursday, where they were confirmed to head to South Africa to oversee a new cast of celebrities battling through trials and challenges in the jungle.
An Unlikely Pairing Brought Together for the Jungle
The duo brings together two very different personalities from Australia's entertainment landscape. Ricki-Lee rose to national prominence on Australian Idol and currently co-hosts the breakfast show on Nova 96.9, while Jefferies is a well-known stand-up comedian who already has a presenting role on Seven as host of The 1% Club Australia.
Seven's Director of Content, Unscripted, Majella Hay acknowledged the contrast between the two, framing it as a deliberate creative choice.
"Individually, Ricki-Lee and Jim couldn't be more different but that's exactly what makes this pairing so exciting," Hay said. "Together, they'll bring a fresh, unexpected energy to the jungle that Australians are going to love."
Ricki-Lee Excited for Her First Trip to Africa
For Ricki-Lee, the role represents a personal milestone beyond just a new hosting gig. She said the opportunity marks her first-ever visit to Africa, adding an extra layer of excitement to what she described as a career highlight.
"I couldn't be more excited to be heading to Africa for the very first time to host one of the most iconic shows in the world. I'm such a massive fan and it's a huge honour," she said.
She also pointed to her long history as a viewer of the format, noting the shift from watching at home to being on the ground in the jungle.
"For years I've watched on from the comfort of my couch and now I get to experience it up close and personal, while standing comfortably off to the side with Jim," she said. "Watching our favourite celebrities squirm their way through some absolutely horrific challenges is gonna be a wild ride."
Ricki-Lee also expressed enthusiasm about working alongside her new co-host, describing Jefferies as "incredible" and saying his involvement made the opportunity even better.
Jim Jefferies Calls It His Ideal Holiday
Jefferies, characteristically, approached the announcement with humour. The comedian said the prospect of watching celebrities endure uncomfortable situations in a remote jungle setting was almost too good to pass up.
"When Seven asked if I'd like to spend weeks in the African jungle watching celebrities eat strange things and embarrass themselves on national television, I couldn't say yes fast enough," he said. "It sounds like my ideal holiday. And who better to go into the wild with than Ricki-Lee. I can't wait!"
