An 11-year-old boy from Queensland has turned a passion for hard work into a thriving small business, spending his weekends detailing cars so he can chase his dream of one day competing in the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. Max Davidson, from Loganholme in southeast Queensland, launched his venture seven months ago and hasn't looked back since.
Prime Finish Detailing: Max's Car Cleaning Business
Max's business, Prime Finish Detailing, covers everything you'd expect from a professional service — and then some. The young entrepreneur handles windows, windscreens, tyres, tyre blackening and full exterior washes. He's also not shy about tackling the messier side of the job.
"I get all the rubbish out, all sorts, clean, bird poo off, bat poo off, dog poo off," Max said, displaying a work ethic that would put many adults to shame.
To get the word out, Max enlisted the help of his mum, who has been posting videos of his work on Facebook — a simple but effective marketing strategy that has helped him build a steady stream of customers. He's now lost count of just how many cars he's cleaned since starting out.

Saving Up to Sail: The Motivation Behind the Hard Work
Every dollar Max earns goes toward his other great love — sailing. Rather than rely on his family to foot the bill, the determined youngster made a conscious decision to fund the passion himself.
"I didn't want to be a freeloader so I basically decided that I would pay for it myself," he said.
That commitment has already paid off in a big way. Max has saved enough money through his detailing work to purchase his own boat — a remarkable achievement for someone who hasn't yet started high school.
The Ultimate Goal: Sydney to Hobart by Age 18
Max's sights are firmly set on a long-term ambition that most seasoned sailors would respect. By the time he turns 18, he wants to compete in the Sydney to Hobart yacht race, one of offshore sailing's most gruelling and prestigious events.
"The ultimate goal is to do a Sydney to Hobart," he said.
For now, Max keeps his head down — detailing cars, honing his sailing skills, and proving that with the right mindset, even an 11-year-old can build something worth talking about. While most kids his age are glued to screens, Max Davidson is already well on his way.
