Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton was taken to hospital by ambulance after police descended on his Miami home on Tuesday night, following a deeply concerning livestream that appeared to show him engaging in self-harm.

The Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office confirmed it had received multiple calls from members of the public reporting a person livestreaming acts of self-harm at a Miami residence, and confirmed Hilton was the individual involved. The footage, which subsequently led to his TikTok account being suspended and the video being removed from the platform, reportedly showed significant amounts of blood.

What Happened at the Scene

Authorities confirmed that Hilton, a father of three, was alone inside the home when officers arrived. Deputies also spoke with family members who were present at the scene. Following initial engagement, police later chose to "tactically disengage" while continuing to monitor the situation from a distance.

The sheriff's office issued a statement explaining the rationale behind that decision, noting that in situations involving mental health crises or active self-harm, de-escalation is often the safest course of action.

"In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritise de-escalation by creating time, distance and opportunities for communication," the statement read. "Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilising crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimise the risk of injury to the individual, deputies and the public."

Hilton was subsequently transported to hospital by ambulance.

Management Company Responds

Hilton's management company, Golden Artists Entertainment, issued a public statement acknowledging the incident after footage circulated online. The company said it had not been able to make direct contact with Hilton at the time of the statement, despite repeated attempts to reach him.

"Our primary concern is Perez's health and well-being, as well as the well-being of his family," the company said, adding that it would not speculate on the situation until confirmed information became available. It asked that Hilton's privacy be respected during the period.

A Year of Serious Health Struggles for Hilton

The incident comes after a particularly difficult stretch health-wise for the well-known blogger and television personality. Earlier in 2026, Hilton revealed he had spent several weeks in hospital after developing severe sepsis as a result of an ulcer. He was hospitalised a second time later in the year after being diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in his leg, requiring surgery to remove a blood clot.

Hilton rose to global prominence in the mid-2000s through his celebrity gossip website PerezHilton.com, becoming one of the earliest and most influential figures in online entertainment media. He has since expanded into television and broader commentary on popular culture.
