The AFL finds itself without a contingency plan for what could prove to be an awkward scenario — the possibility of Isaac Heeney winning the Brownlow Medal.
It is understood the league has not yet formulated any response or strategy to address the eventuality of Heeney taking out the prestigious award, despite the prospect remaining a live one.
The situation has drawn attention given that no clear framework appears to exist within the AFL to manage the circumstances surrounding a potential Heeney victory. The league has so far not moved to put any such plan in place, leaving the question of how it would handle the outcome unresolved ahead of the count.
